The Guideline Elevation 10' is a single-handed fly rod specially developed for stillwater fly fishing. Available in #6 and #7 line ratings, it focuses on smooth progressive loading, protection for fine tippets and fish control during the fight.
Guideline rates its action as Medium Fast with quick recovery. Independent measurements carried out using the Common Cents System protocol, however, show a particularly progressive curve, with an action angle of 60° on both versions. This smooth, even behaviour reduces the risk of pulled hooks and break-offs when fishing fine leaders.
Both models are especially at home with delicate stillwater tactics: dry flies, buzzers in the surface film, bung fishing, washing line and light rigs. Their 10' length gives you extra control, helps manage long lines and makes it easier to clear obstacles behind the angler, such as a bank or mound.
Two line ratings for fine stillwater fishing
- Elevation 10' #6: ideal for delicate presentations, dry flies, buzzers, bung fishing and light rigs. It works with a true #6 fly line or a relatively powerful #5 fly line.
- Elevation 10' #7: keeps the same progressive action with extra capacity for distance casting or fishing slightly bulkier flies. It can be paired with a light #7 floating line or certain #6 or #7 intermediate lines.

A reduced-impact design
The blank keeps its natural colour, with no unnecessary paint. Guideline also uses low-toxicity bio-based epoxy coatings and anodised metal components with no chrome plating. The polypropylene tube is recyclable and more compact than a traditional PVC tube.
La Fine Mouche's opinion: we selected the Elevation 10' for its excellent value for money and its particularly reassuring behaviour with fine rigs. The #6 is ideal for delicate surface work, bung fishing or washing line tactics. The #7 keeps the same lovely progressive feel while offering more options for gaining distance or fishing slightly bulkier flies. These are not brutal rods: their strength lies in their smoothness, control and excellent ability to keep fish pinned.
