The Light Pink Body Fratnik is a minimalist CDC dry fly, designed to imitate a small mayfly, an emerger, or more broadly a subtle insect sitting in the surface film.

Created by Marjan Fratnic, the Fratnik, also known as the F-Fly, has become a major European classic for delicate dry fly fishing. Its concept is simple: few materials, a very natural silhouette, and a subtle presentation to fool selective fish.

Its simple, very clean tying style gives it a low, light, and natural footprint on the water. The light pink colour is especially interesting for grayling, a fish often highly responsive to this kind of soft, bright shade, while remaining effective for trout too.

This fly performs best with a long leader and a fine tippet for a delicate presentation. It is particularly useful for subtle rises from grayling and trout, especially when fish are feeding very selectively.
