Fly tying tips
A small amount of marabou is usually enough to create a very mobile tail or wing. Overdressing the fly can restrict the natural movement of the fibres in the water. Different shades can be mixed or layered to create extra contrast.
To adjust the length, pinch the fibres and gently tear off the tips rather than cutting them with scissors. This helps preserve a finer, more irregular and natural-looking taper.
