The Power Strike PRO Standard is a knotless tapered leader designed to lay your fly down with accuracy and finesse.

Made from high-quality Japanese nylon, it features a hydrophobic treatment that prevents the line from absorbing water for better flotation.

This premium nylon has been optimised to be stronger and more supple, without developing line memory.

The profile is well balanced: a powerful butt section (40%) to transfer energy efficiently, a transition zone (35%) and a tip (25%) for delicacy. This structure helps turn over your leader properly, even in strong winds.

Simplicity & Protection

Each leader is sold ready to fish, with an integrated loop for quick connection to your fly line.

The leaders are supplied in a UV-protective zip pouch to prevent damage in your fly vest.

The connection loop on this leader is handy, but I prefer to cut it off and connect the leader directly to the fly line for better energy transfer all the way to the tip.

Technical specifications

Tips

Choosing the right length depends on your fishing situation and the size of your fly. The 9ft (2.75 m) version makes it easier to turn over the leader, which is ideal if you are just starting out or if you fish larger flies. By contrast, the 12ft (3.65 m) version allows much more delicate presentations and keeps the fly line further from the fly for extra stealth.

Remember you can extend your leader by adding around 1 full metre of extra tippet using a tippet ring to gain even more stealth and suppleness in the drift.
