The STROFT FC2 is a premium 100% fluorocarbon line, developed for fly anglers looking for a low-visibility, strong and reliable leader material. Made in Germany by the renowned STROFT brand, it offers an excellent balance of strength, diameter, stealth and knot strength.

Thanks to its very low visibility underwater, STROFT FC2 fluorocarbon is particularly well suited to fine, technical approaches: euro nymphing, sight nymphing, stillwater fly fishing, or targeting wary fish in clear water. Its density also helps the leader sink well and improves nymph presentation.

The FC2 strikes a great compromise between sensitivity, stealth and strength. It helps you keep excellent contact with nymphs or streamers, while still providing solid security on harder-fighting fish.

Recommended use

The STROFT FC2 is an excellent choice for making your fly fishing leader tippet sections. Smaller diameters such as 0,09 mm, 0,11 mm or 0,13 mm are perfect for finesse fishing and small nymphs. Larger diameters, such as 0,17 mm or 0,20 mm, are better suited to stillwater fly fishing, light streamers, and stronger fish.

In our micrometer checks, the STROFT FC2 may measure slightly thicker than the stated diameter. Above all, it remains a very consistent line, appreciated for its strength and reliability on the water.

In our checks, actual diameters proved slightly larger than the stated diameters. The STROFT FC2 nevertheless remains a very consistent line, reliable and confidence-inspiring on the water, both for nymphing and for fishing streamers.
