Italian Sedge

Dry Fly : Italian Sedge
The “Italian Sedge” is a dry fly that combines excellent buoyancy with perfect visibility. Its wing is made of pheasant feather and chamois hair, while the twisted deer ear body and parachute-style deer hair hackle provide outstanding flotation. The red polystyrene ball enhances both visibility and buoyancy on the water.
Tie it on a dry-fly hook, size 12 or 14, such as the Hanak H130BL.
As always, it’s best to use a very fine tying thread for this type of fly, which includes many materials. A 14/0 or 16/0 thread, or even finer, will allow for a precise and well-balanced build.
